Genesis is an annual intercollegiate cultural event organized by Goa Medical College. The council batch organizes this event every year. This year it was our turn!
Being the VP, I carried the major weight of Genesis on my shoulders. We, the council batch wanted to make Genesis big this year, really BIG! That’s where DOT EXE came into the picture.

They were introduced to me by one of the council members and offered to organize and manage Genesis as a whole. But we couldn’t let them have all the fun right? We decided that they would handle the lights and sound at the venue as well as design and execution of the stage setup. They were also assigned designing and printing of the invites, posters, entry tickets and certificates.

The first task we set for them was designing of the invites. We wrote the content and then handed it over to them along with our ideas so they could design the finished product. They came to our college a countless number of times to show us their progress, designs and get our feedback on their work. They designed the cover and the inside of the invite to suit our theme and certainly did a good job! They even added a page about our special attraction.. SCEPTRE! There was no turning back after that!

We then handed over the designing and printing of the posters. They came up with a lot of innovative designs which they managed to create from just a handful of snaps of Sceptre because the band manager was uncooperative. And if that’s not dedication, I don’t know what is. As soon as we had chosen the designs, the printing work was carried out very efficiently. Even when it came to stage setup, the back-drop design as well as the wing poster was ready well in advance and they took pains to make sure that everything was approved down to the smallest detail before it was executed.

We appreciated the fact that they did the best they could with the meager finances we were able to provide. They even helped us out on a friendly basis by giving us advice about publicity and allocation of resources. They helped us a lot in dealing with the band Sceptre, especially their sound requirements and demands which seemed to be never ending!

At the venue, they reached before everyone else to setup and test the sound and lights with the bands Bad Apple and Sceptre. They did all the stage setup without any help and made sure that everything was ready before time.

When we saw the stage in the evening, it had been transformed, and definitely in a good way! The backdrop, lights, posters and our personalized stage butterfly all came together to metamorphosize Genesis into something that had never been created before.

The event went on without any hitches and much to our satisfaction. The lights and sound for the Rock show created an effect that we had not expected, not even dreamed of!

We were able to pull off our BIG Genesis, thanks to DOT EXE.
